When the Snow Settles - Rachel LaBerge

Image
I know it's early October and it's barely autumn but when you get a chance to read a cozy, PNW, rom-com love story with lots of snow you grab a warm drink, a fluffy blanket, and a curl up to get moody. When the Snow Settles is a spicy and sweet novella that continues the love story of Holland and Ivy who you can meet in A Lodge Affair also by the lovely Rachel LeBerge.  You still the grumpy/sunshine elements of Ivy and Hollands personalities come through from their main story but also how they've grown and how their love story has evolved. They are dealing with things any couple would be dealing with as their lives go on as well as what many romance stories rely on - dramatic irony and miscommunication. Delicious.  On the eve on one of the biggest events of Ivys career she is dealing with stress, bad weather, and possible major issues with Holland because of things left unsaid and woooooooo boy. Will they talk it out? Will they work it out? Will her job be ok? Will SHE be...

They're not quite friends but there's an element of trust there and he tells her what's on his mind while he snuggles a hard to adopt pup.  Panties everywhere melt. This book has plenty of sizzle but stops short of being spicy. Still the kisses are more than enough to get your heart rate up.  Their path to love isn't easy and is awkward - but they like awkward! - and t's fun to read. Their dates are ador...
