Kiss the Villain - Rina Kent

Image
Oh Rina Kent - I love you so much. Another chapter in the RinaVerse has been released and I am, again, smitten with men who Rina has written. Kiss the Villain , the first book in the Villains duet, was released on March 20th and I quickly devoured both the physical book and the audiobook and I have feelings. Also, I HIGHLY recommend the audio on this one. Talk about perfect casting from top to bottom this full cast recording is just A++. First of all, Gareth and Kayden are right up there in terms of fuckery with Killian and Glyn and I love that for all of us. Mercy me.  Secondly, I have a weakness for the student/teacher dynamic and I was utterly salivating over that part of their relationship. And the banter between the two of them? Catnip to me. Delicious.  Thirdly, I loved watching Gareth peel away the layers and show us who he really was. His backstory was so satisfying to me. Everything with Asher and Carson? The family drama? OH MY WORD INJECT IT INTO MY VEINS. And Kayde...

Save Your Breath - Kandi Steiner

Image
Save Your Breath by Kandi Steiner is the fourth book in the Kings of the Ice series and seriously, it's unfair how each book is just SO freaking DELICIOUS. Here in book four, we meet Mia and Aleks, the squeaky-clean popstar and the hockey bad boy, who are in a bit of a tricky situation. He needs someone to help clean up his image and she needs help getting the attention off her ex and on to her and her music. So of course, fake dating and a fake engagement are CLEARLY the answer for BOTH of them.  What makes all of this extra difficult for them? Oh, they've totally NOT been entangled since they were teenagers, and he came from Switzerland to live with her family in Illinois with dreams of playing in the NHL. Of course, he promised to keep his hands off her and he did... and oh the yearning and regret.  So, of course, this is one of my favorite of Steiners books because he falls so hard it's PAINFUL in the best of ways.  This book is also so good in how it handles mental ...

Forbidden Professor - Vivian Wood

Image
Forbidden Professor by Vivian Wood was a quick read with delicious tension, fun characters, good spice level, and I enjoyed the tension among the characters. A little taboo, a little sweet, a lot yummy. I love a good teacher x student romance and add to that the whole wild and crazy family tree drama and this story gets complex in new and creative ways that made me go oh, oh, I think I like that.  Eve is a delightful FMC who is both young and sweet but also strong in her convictions and I love watching her come in to her own and be exactly who she is meant to be. Carter is exactly what I look for in an MC - strong, sexy, smart and utterly gone for his lady.  Loved the story, loved the universe, love all the characters, it’s a delightful read all around! I read this as an ARC reader and I am so excited that this is now out there for everyone to read! Go get you a copy and enjoy!

The Break Out - Madi Danielle

Image
HAPPY RELEASE DAY TO MADI DANIELLE AND THE BREAK OUT  the newest release in the Denver Dragons series.  I was *SO HONORED* to be an ARC reader for this book and I have read it twice. Once just to squeal and squee and enjoy once to make sure I did it justice when I wrote what I wanted to say about it.  Today when you get to meet Colton and Brynn there are a few things you should know.  He really is a grade-A jackhole. When Brynn says "It really is unfair that the universe decides to give a man that face and body, but his shitty personality" You will feel it with your whole chest along with her and yet ... you're still going to want him to ride you like he rides the mechanical bull.  Brynn is everything you expect her to be from getting pieces parts of her from Brents POV in The Hat Trick and so much more. You will want to protect her from being hurt by a fuck-boi but also know she is capable of doing that all her own - thank you very much.  So what ha...

Hockey Boy - Brittanee Nicole

Image
Oh the Langfield Brothers. Kings of sarcasm as a love language, ducking swear word replacements, and shenanigans that lead to true love. Of course it was time for Aiden Langfield to find his happily ever after and I am HERE FOR IT. Let's get in to it with Hockey Boy.  Aiden and Lennox were high school sweethearts who ended abruptly and both of them... kind of gave up on the whole love thing. I guess they weren't all that over after all... Which is even more evident ten years later when Aiden proposes to his long term, and really horrible girlfriend, and Lennox winds up as their wedding planner and after their first meeting he ends the engagement. POOF. Bye horrible lady! Seriously, every mention of that chick in the previously books has made my skin crawl... she was even worse than expected. Anyway, road block gone... he keeps up the facade of being engaged and keeps planning a wedding just to stay close to Lennox. Because that's the kind of insanity these boys do to get a...

Catch Me When I Fall - Brittany Ann

Image
So I've said before I love Brittany Ann. A few times. I'm going to say it again. I LOVE BRITTANY ANN. Seriously.  First it was dark, baseball, mafia romance. Then it was cowboy and bull rider romance. Then it was street racing romance. Now we got bounty hunter romance.  The first half of the Catch Me duet , Catch Me When I Fall, was just released on August 26th and I DEVOURED IT. If work and being sick interfered I would have finished it same day but alas... real life.  The story of Carrie and Grayson is wild, steamy, dramatic and ends on an INSANE cliff hanger that literally had me flipping the last few pages going WHAT THE CRAP! NO WAY! and HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE DUET!?!?!?  Not since the Dean-cliff-hanger in the Batter Up series have I screamed at Brittany like this ... so it's been a while but it was well deserved then and even more so now. How dare.  Carrie has been in an in-patient rehab facility since her finding the b...

Exile - Poppy Fitzgerald

Image
I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader for Exile by Poppy Fitzgerald and let me tell you... HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER GO READ THIS NOW.  We met the FMC of this book, Serena, in Poppys first book, Astray, where she was a police officer attempting to help Eloise when she was being stalked. Serena said she understood... and here we find out why. Serena is working at the local coffee shop and Dominick, a local officer, comes in every day and there's flirting. When they finally go out on a date she is so taken by his generosity and up front kindness that she overlooks the red flags like a blind bull.  But why would she want to see the worst in people when she was living with a sick mother, severe traumatic brain injury from the car accident that killed her father, and barely scraping by to put herself through college. She was due something good and here was a protective, generous, cop who was bound to protect and serve who wanted to give her the world.  Until everything go...

Silver Foxed - Kayla Grosse

Image
It's summer and I guess that means it's time for a good, naughty, summer time read, right? Well let me introduce you to Silver Foxed.  Kayla Grosse wrote a perfect naughty beach read for you if you're looking for an age gap, dads best friend, kinky novella with a plus sized female love interest.  Did I know that's what I was looking for? Absolutely not but ... it was what I was looking for.  She's at her parents beach house relaxing before her 30th birthday. He's sent there by his best friend and boss to take some time off so he doesn't burn out. The sparks fly. It's forbidden instalust. It's delicious and delightful. There's kink, there's role play, there's public sexy times.  It's sexy, it's cute, it should be popular to boot. Seriously, I enjoyed the whole book, it's a short, quick read. Perfect for a day at the, let's say lake? Or chilling in the comfort of the air conditioning. A solid 4.5 star read to get you primed ...

The Sweet Spot - Bella Matthews

Image
If you've been reading the Playing to Win series like me you've been DYING to know who Brynnie had on the couch since Ares walked in on them in The Knock Out and now we know! In the newest book in the series, The Sweet Spot, we meet Deacon Kane the new coach of the Revolution and get to watch Brynnlee get her happy ending!  And what a happy ending it is! He's the older man, he's a single dad, he's forbidden because he's her boss, and she's dealing with a life changing medical issue, it's got all the pieces parts for a delicious yummy drama. And delicious it is!  I love this series so much. They're pretty, rich kids with pretty, rich problems and its so fun to get lost in this world for a little while. I devoured this book so quickly. Deacon is a great new addition to the family. This is a solid 4 Star read and a great beach day read too. Highly recommend for a chillin pool side with a beer or mocktail. This whole series is great for that vibe!  I am...

A Love Letter to the books of Shain Rose

Image
I stumbled on the writing of Shain Rose due to an instagram post about Shattered Vows and I was like ... interesting. So, then I had to read the Tarnished Empire series because you can't start a series in book three, obviously. I am so glad I did. Now I have read every book she has in print and I am so glad I have. I may have read her series out of order but they're all worth a read and all... delicious. So, lets talk about them. First up is the New Reign Mafia Duet , Heart of a Monster and Love of a Queen . Here we meet Rome Armanelli and Katie who share a dark and twisted history and a romance that is ... unconventional? Let's go with that. Kate-Bait is one seriously bad ass bitch who goes from victim of sex trafficking to queen of an empire. Rome, Bastian, and Dante and the entirety of the mafia? Kind of along for the ride.  Next up, let's go over to the Stonewood Billionaires trilogy.   This is where I really started to fall in absolute LOVE with Shain Rose. Trul...
